Our Working Kelpie Stud is called 'Shepherds'(ND).

We are members of and registered with the WKC, Working Kelpie Council of Australia.

Together with our 5 children, we live on our farm in the heart of the 'Drents-Friese Wold' National Park. Catrinus is a second-generation shepherd and manages the sheep flock. Erika is a qualified veterinary technician and worked for many years as an Animal Care lecturer.
Together, we raise and train the dogs.

In addition to the sheep flock and the herd of Highland cattle we care for, we also have 150 Scottish Blackface ewes, crossbreeds, and Drenthe Heath sheep, 20 Dutch Landrace goats, and several geese for training purposes.
With nearly 700 sheep in the flocks, spread across 8 different locations, our dogs have plenty of work!

We have come to know the Working Kelpie as an exceptional stock dog that perfectly aligns with our approach to livestock handling. The Working Kelpie does whatever is necessary to get the livestock moving. A handling approach tailored to the individual dog ensures that all of its qualities are fully realized.
